This memo was written and finalized on November 5, 2021 to outline the vision for the business known as C3. The memo is written in the present tense as if it were delivered as a "state of the union" address to the current and past members of C3 on December 31, 2023 at a resort destination in South Africa. The goal of this memo is to visualize a future for C3 that we can make manifest in the next two years.
We’re on the precipice of realizing our wildest dreams, we Superstar Teachers of the internet.
The last two years have borne out many of our predictions from 2021.
Hopeful predictions at the time, we foresaw a future of democratized education for all.
A future in which everyone has an online course in them.
A future of students becoming teachers, and teachers becoming students in an endless flywheel of learning.
A future in which you could scale your impact and build a sustainable business, anywhere in the world, by teaching people to improve their lives or businesses.
A future of Superstar Teachers.
The market has moved with us. We’re in a world now where domain experts with a burning desire for impact are helping others transform themselves.
Domain experts realize there is no final destination.
They’re constantly learning, because they recognize that by teaching, they grow too.
We see them come from all walks of life, with global mindsets and friends on the internet.
They have an entrepreneurial spirit.
Independent thinkers, they’re makers and builders.
Round pegs in square holes, they know there is a better way of doing things.
Servant leaders, they have a spirit of generosity and kindness that elevates everyone around them.
They play positive-sum, infinite games, recognizing that joy in the process of teaching leads to the results they desire.
